Planning a Hens or Bachelorette Party

Some amazing ideas for Your Hen's or Bachelorette Party!

Are you planning a Hens or Bachelorette Party? - This post is for you!

A Hens Party can be a great way to take some time out of the often chaotic lead up to the big day itself. It can also be a bit of a headache to plan! These days your typical kitchen tea just doesn't cut it.

The same goes for a boozy night with neon veils, penis whistles and topless waiters. You (the planner) have to be original but not cost people too much, you have to cater for a whole host of ages, tastes and life stages (and complaints!). There's also a lot of pressure to give the bride an event to remember.

We thought we'd help out with a few ideas for memorable and special Hens parties.

1. What about a Photo shoot?

A fun idea that is also quite unique and personal is a photoshoot. Get your besties together, organise some champagne and practice your photo faces for the big day! Make it fun with cute costumes or do a Gossip Girl theme with vintage lingerie and macaroons.

2. Take a Class

Make your own bouquets or flower crowns, draw a naked person (or bowl of fruit if you're boring!), make some jewellery or learn a choreographed girls dance for the wedding.

Taking some time out to play and create is a great way to Bachelorette Party it. Lot's of fun and laughter, plus you walk away with a new skill to show off or something shiny to wear.

Time out, relax, beauty treatment, massage

A day at the beach, a night on the river or a Melbourne shopping trip - it's really about having some down time and laughs with your soul sistas!

3. A girls weekend

Enjoy a weekend of beauty and pampering with a spa getaway for you and your besties. Or if the budget is tight in the lead up to the wedding, perhaps you could book a coast house, stock up on the wine and do some DIY facials and mani pedis?

4. Specialised Cocktails

With the guidance of an expert mixologist, you can create your very own cocktail! More than just a boozy night on the town, this is a fun way to create a signature cocktail, named after you and your bridal party.

Add a bride specific quiz or some fun Hens party games and you've got yourself a great night in!

5. High Tea

Find the nicest hotel in your city and book yourself a 5 star high tea.

Get your girls, Aunts, Mum and Grandmamma together and spoil yourselves with some fancy cake and cucumber sandwiches!

A high tea can be a fun alternative to a kitchen tea. An added bonus is that all the catering and cleaning up is taken care of. You just have to show up and enjoy!

6. A winery tour

Organise a driver (possibly one that comes with a bus!) and head out to a winery (or 5!). A winery trip is a relaxing and fun way to spend some quality time with your girls. Good wine, gorgeous surroundings and great friends - what more could you want?

This particular idea, while exciting, will not be for everyone. It could be a good idea to pair this with a sedate kitchen tea or a nice dinner so that the Nonnas can sit the hair raising adventure portion out!

7. A little bit more adventurous

If your group is a little bit more outdoorsy or adventurous or competitive... Maybe think about a horse ride on the beach, a morning balloon flight, a bit of rock climbing, hang gliding, Go Karting or V8 car racing. There are even adventure camps that you can organise to go on.

Adventure sport, rock climbing,

As the wedding day zooms up, stress level are sure to rise. Sometimes the thought of putting any more time or effort into something than is absolutely necessary is just too overwhelming. But that is what the bridal party is for. When planning a Hens or Bachelorette Party be sure and ask the bride what she would like to do, or maybe run some ideas by her so that you have a rough idea. This goes for you brides too! If you have strong ideas about what you do and don't want, make sure you speak up! At the end of the day, time out with your besties is what it's really about. A few drinks and home made facials with a girlie sleep over may be the bride wants. And that sounds pretty good!

Have fun gorgeous!
