Wedding Decorations – What you’ll Need

Wedding Decorations - What you need to know?

Planning a wedding?  One of the first things that people think about with their wedding is how it's going to look. But figuring out what you're going to need for your wedding decorations can be quite involved.

We've put together a list for all the wedding decorations you may need. You probably won't be interested in all of these, but it's definitely worth having a look through. Maybe there's something that you haven't thought of yet!

Decoration For the Ceremony:

You're not going to need every part of this list. You may be getting married in a little chapel where there is no possibility of getting lost.

Or you may opt for a minimalist look without chair decorations or aisle markers/ flowers.

  • Welcome Signage
  • Directional Signage
  • Wedding Programs
  • Wedding Arch
  • Curtains/ Backdrop
  • Aisle Markers
  • Aisle Flowers
  • Chair Decorations
  • Overhead or Wall Arrangements

Beautiful Ceremony Decor

Roof installation, hanging flowers, wedding decoration, reception decor

A roof installation or flower chandelier can be a striking addition to your reception decor

rustic wedding, shabby chic, boho, wedding decor, table decoration

Put your money and your time into decor that means something to you

Decoration For the reception:

  • Welcome Signage
  • Seating Chart
  • Gift Table
  • Wishing Well
  • Centrepieces
  • Table Runners
  • Place Cards
  • Menus
  • Table Numbers
  • Chair Covers/ or Decorations
  • Roof/ Ceiling Inspiration
  • Wedding Table Backdrop

The reception venue will often take care of table numbers and menus or you may decide that it's simply not needed! Many couples these days do the "sit where you want, we're all friends!" sign instead of a seating chart.

Or they decide to save money on chair decorations and put it into something that is more important to them.

Really, when it comes down to wedding decoration for your ceremony and reception, it's about what is worth the time and money for you.

What really appeals, and what seems unnecessary? It's easy to get caught up in what you feel that you should and shouldn't  include for your big day.

But at really, you just want someone to marry, someone to marry the two of you, something to wear and somewhere to celebrate. The rest is beautiful window dressing that may or may not be essential depending on your tastes.

Have fun wedding planning and let us know if there's anything we forgot in our list!
