Weddings are trending towards animals.

As any animal lover will know, pets can be unpredictable. This is something you do not want on your wedding day!

Some things to think about when involving your pet at your wedding…

1. Confirm with your venue

Ring the venue. Some venues will allow pets outside but not inside.

Remember to just make a phone call. A simple but important step that is easy to forget, with all the things that are on your to-do list.

Do this first as you may have to change venues and you wouldn't want to do that at the last moment.

Imagine showing up on your wedding day, with your four–legged friend in tow, and being told that animals are not allowed to come in.

2. Pet photography

Notify your photographer. Some photographers want to bring treats or their best ideas for the best photos.

Some photographers don't like having animals to deal with.

3. Let your guests know in advance

It is always worth informing your guests early on that you’re going to include your pet at your wedding.

Add the information to the save-the-date cards and the invitations. This is just in case there is someone has allergies or just scared stiff of dogs or other animals.

4. Safety over style

There is nothing cuter than a pup in a tux or a cat with a bow tie, but make sure it fits properly and is comfortable so your pet can enjoy your day.

Keep the accessories simple to avoid any pitfalls. Think about a flower or little bow tie attached to their collar. Super fun and super cute!

Remember your pets safety. Double-check that none of their accessories are a choking hazard to your pet.

Check that none of the flowers you used are poisonous to animals.

5. Book a pet sitter

It’s lovely to have your beloved pooch or fur baby around your wedding day. They need to have time out from all the noise and celebrations.

Hire a pet sitter to be responsible for bringing your pet.

Watching him during the ceremony and reception and taking them home before it gets too rowdy as the night goes on?

That way you won’t need to worry about who’s feeding them, if they’ve got enough water and if they’ve devoured the wedding cake yet!

Have fun at your wedding with your fur baby!
