Shandar and Nathan – A Study in Sunflowers

Real Wedding - Shandar and Nathan

I was lucky enough to meet Shandar and Nathan at one of the many Wedding Expos that we take part in. 

Shandar just loves sunflowers and had decorated their engagement party with artificial sunflowers. She wanted those same sunflowers to feature in her bridal bouquet.

Shandar wanted something rustic, to match an outdoor wedding on the family farm. A bouquet that she could keep forever and that (of course) featured those beautiful sunflowers!

Challenge accepted!

Hand painted silk sunflowers and pink and bridal white Real Touch roses. A lot of hand painting going on!

Our head designer and textile artist Beryl was delighted to get busy with these gorgeous blooms. She started by hand painting the edges of the silk sunflowers to give them a more realistic look. Beryl then combined the hand painted sunflowers with hand painted pink and bridal white Real Touch roses (a lot of hand painting going on! She then added Real Touch water grass and flock babies breath. Rustic sunflower bouquet, perfect for a outdoor wedding on the family farm? Achieved!

It was such an honour to be part of Shandar and Nathan's special day and to provide them with the beautiful sunflower bouquet that they dreamed of!
