Five Ideas for a Casual Wedding

5 Ideas for a Casual Wedding -Weddings are a constantly evolving tradition. Increasingly these days, a couple is reflected by how they choose to celebrate this beautiful event.

Many couples are going for more of a casual party rather than an elaborate extravaganza. It's not unusual for a couple to wed barefoot on a beach or at their favourite bar.

But it can sometimes be hard to find the right blend of tradition and bohemian whimsy, so we've jotted down a few thoughts for you.

Here it comes: 5 ideas for a casual wedding that reflects you!

1. Dress down!

It's your day, wear what you want! Go barefoot, step out in something colourful instead of a white gown or a starchy tux.

Or if you want a casual wedding, but still want to frock up. Do it! Everyone will be looking at you no matter what.

Why not really give them something to admire?!

2. Avoid the Uniform

Instead of getting the girls to frock up in matching formal gowns, why not let them choose their own?

Give them a colour and let them decide (with consultation of course) what suits them best.

That way they'll be more comfortable on the day, and your wedding pics will be fabulous!

3. Think beyond formal dining

The quickest way to make it casual? Opt for something other than a three course sit down meal!

here are so many options with couples becoming increasingly more creative.

A food truck can be a fun, quirky way to feed your guests something delicious that won't break the bank.

Share platter, rustic wedding, reception dinner
Bridal party, wedding buffet, pizza

Got your heart set on a sit down dinner?

A series of share platters is a great way to serve lots of people with a bohemian twist.

You can have this as an elaborate buffet style meal, or have share platters delivered to each table.

Fun and fashionable!

Let them eat cake!

Or something else... Forget the traditional 3 tier, marzipan covered fruitcake, pick something that YOU want to be eating on the night.

glorious mud-cake or a beautifully presented tray of tiered cupcakes are well established alternatives to traditional cake. But have you thought about a doughnut or profiterole tier?

Delicious!

One wedding I went to ignored any kind of nod to cake and put out a couple of trays of really good doughnuts. Or... a literal cheese-cake?

5. Transport Options

So this isn't a new idea at all... but limos are a pretty old idea.

Fun, but old. Why not a combi?

The bonus of a cute little van is that you can pile the whole bridal party in while giving a nod to your hippy leanings! Such a fun day and some great photo opportunities!
