Wedding cakes come in many sizes. From cupcakes, a simple single-tier or breathtaking 5, 6, or more-tiered cakes.

The size is usually determined by the number of guests you will be sharing the cake with.

Not everyone eats or likes dessert at a wedding, so catering for a little less is the norm at a wedding.

It does not need to be white, it can be any colour that the baker can design and create for you.

Tradition used to be a fruit cake. Now the cake can come in all shapes, sizes and tastes to match what you love to eat.

The wedding cake has been a part of the ceremony since the ancient Greeks and Romans.

As part of the nuptials, the groom broke bread over the bride’s head.

This was to symbolise her submission, the end of her purity, and to represent good luck and fertility.

During the middle ages, a newer approach included high-stacking the cakes. If they were successful in kissing without knocking the cake over, then it was believed that they would be blessed with many children.
